Hyros Attribution Accuracy: What the Numbers Mean
When we deploy Hyros for a client, we set two internal LGG targets, not Hyros or industry benchmarks. The first is 70% attribution at the lead capture level, which we aim to hit within the first few weeks. The second is 85%, which we work toward over subsequent months. Both refer to the same metric: the percentage of your revenue that Hyros can trace back to a specific click source.
What Tracked Revenue Means in Hyros
Hyros bills on tracked revenue, not total business revenue. If a revenue event occurs but there is no click source associated to the lead record that produced it, Hyros does not count it as tracked revenue for billing purposes.
This distinction also has a direct operational meaning. Revenue that is not tracked to a click source is revenue for which you have no attribution data. You do not know which campaign, ad, or keyword contributed to producing it. It is invisible to your bidding optimization.
The tracked revenue percentage is therefore both a billing metric and a data quality metric. A higher percentage means more of your revenue is attributable and more of your media buying decisions can be grounded in actual performance data rather than estimates. Attribution accuracy is the foundation of our full Hyros implementation service.
What tracked revenue means in practice
- Revenue attributed to a click source, 85%. Used for bidding optimization and billing tier.
- Revenue with no click source, 15%. Not counted toward tier. Not available for bidding signals.
Two functions, one number: tracked revenue percentage determines your billing tier and how much of your revenue you can actually optimize toward.

The 70% and 85% Targets
The two targets represent different phases of implementation maturity, what a correct base deployment produces, and what deliberate ongoing optimization achieves.
The first meaningful target when Hyros is newly deployed. This means 70% of the leads entering your system have a click history stored in their Hyros lead record. When a correct base implementation is in place, LGG sets 70% as the minimum for a correct base implementation.
The three elements required:
- Tracking script deployed across all pages.
- Click ID capture enabled for paid channels.
- Forms accessible to the Hyros script, not behind iframes.
Going from 70% to 85% requires closing gaps that are harder to solve. Some visitors will always be unattributable, users with aggressive fingerprinting protection, users behind corporate proxies, users who convert via channels with no click IDs.
Reaching 85% typically requires:
- First-party proxying of the Hyros script to reduce blocking.
- Full audit of all form placements for iframe issues.
- Complete call tracking integration.
- Integration of offline transaction channels.
- CRM field hygiene, consistent, non-duplicated identifiers.
Very few implementations reach 85% without deliberate ongoing work. Most never get there. Complete call tracking is one prerequisite →
These targets describe lead records. Traceable revenue is a separate measurement. We ran the revenue version across 203,043 transactions that settled in client merchant and bank accounts, and 79.1% traced back to an ad click. Lead generation accounts reached 95.9%. Retail reached 63.9%. If your Hyros match rate looks healthy but your traceable revenue does not, the business model is usually the reason.
What Attribution Accuracy Enables
The practical value of a high tracked revenue percentage is not just cleaner reporting. It changes what bidding strategies are available to you and how well those strategies perform.
70% · what becomes possible
You have enough data to run target ROAS or target CPA bidding strategies and see meaningful improvement over manual bidding. The algorithm is receiving a signal more accurate than platform-native attribution but is still missing roughly 30% of your revenue events.
85% · what becomes possible
The bidding signal is strong enough that the algorithm's decisions are based on a near-complete picture of where revenue is coming from. Small changes in campaign structure, audience targeting, or creative produce measurable and predictable changes in revenue output. You can run experiments with confidence.
The real difference between 70% and 85%: the difference is not 15 percentage points of attribution. It is the difference between media buying decisions based on reasonably good data and media buying decisions based on data you can genuinely trust.
| Attribution | Bidding capability |
|---|---|
| Under 70% | Insufficient for reliable tROAS / tCPA |
| 70% | tROAS and tCPA viable, meaningful improvement over manual |
| 85%+ | Predictable optimization. Experiments produce measurable results. |
Why Platform Attribution Overstates Performance
A common experience when first deploying Hyros is that the revenue Hyros attributes to your paid campaigns is lower than what Google Ads and Meta report. This is expected.
How platform attribution works
- Google's default click-through conversion window is 30 days (configurable up to 90) with a 1-day view-through window by default, a conversion can be credited to a Google ad even if the customer clicked 29 days ago with dozens of interactions since.
- Meta uses similar attribution windows.
- Both platforms use modeled conversions, estimating conversions they could not directly observe. These models can significantly inflate reported numbers.
How Hyros attribution works
Hyros attribution is based on the actual click ID stored in the lead record. If there is no click ID, there is no attribution. This produces lower reported numbers than platform dashboards, but more accurate numbers for making media buying decisions.
What happens when clients switch to Hyros-based bidding: reported ROAS appears to drop. What has actually happened is that inflated attribution has been replaced with accurate attribution. The actual revenue has not changed. The measurement has become more honest.
| Factor | Platform attribution | Hyros attribution |
|---|---|---|
| Basis | Click windows + modeled estimates | Actual click ID in lead record |
| Conversion without click | Yes, view-through + modeled | No, click ID required |
| Reported ROAS vs actual | Often inflated | Lower, but accurate |
| Useful for bidding | Partially, incentive to over-report | Yes, no platform self-interest |
